LAEMS Return - urgent
Good morning all. Forgive the duplication - I've just posted this in the members forum as well.
Apologies in some respects for this being my first post - I've literally only just joined this network. I'm equally sorry/not sorry! to seek to burden you with something urgent.
I'm the (relatively) new head of service for Environmental Health at Bradford Council, and my Lead Food Officer has very recently left us for pastures new, at very short notice.
My former colleague was seemingly the only one who knew how to run the required report/collate the data. Consequently, we're in desperate need to complete the return before the 31st May deadline.
I can see that APP has a "Formal Returns" capability, one of which is "FSA Returns" which seems to generate something when I start looking, but it doesn't complete. I don't know where it's pulling the data from, or what the issue is. The previous head of service had intimate knowledge of APP, but of course, is no longer around either. Colleagues with more knowledge of APP than me have had a look, without success. I know a little but not enough of the operational side, and even less of the configuration side of things, having been using iDox until my arrival at Bradford Council.
Fundamentally, I suppose I'm asking if anyone has any familiarity with generating a LAEMS return from APP (if it can still do it) and has capacity to help us out! I'd be absolutely indebted to you if you can provide any kind of advice or guidance, as a matter of urgency (for me!).

Hi Were you hoping to use the APP LAEMS output to complete the return? The output is in XML and is a great long file which contains all the data lines for all food/standards premises whether there was activity or not. It is possible to convert that file into a spreadsheet, but you will need to get advice from someone about that.
Since COVID I think that Trafford has run individual reports from APP to answer the various questions in the FSA return and I haven't done any of that, so I am not familiar with what information is required anymore.
You might find that the LAEMS config programme helps you to understand what things were being reported on. Although I have just had a look at progranne FSC on our system and all of the config details are now blank - not something that we have done!
