CAC's (CitA) - Not Adding Title Data
APP creates search fields automatically based on the input data – it recognises an individual by the use of a title and swaps the name order – i.e. Mr James Brown becomes a search string of BROWNJAMESMR . Without a title APP is programmed to recognise the name as a business name and leave the word order unchanged e.g. New Inn becomes a search string of NEWINN.
However now that CACs are no longer asking for titles there is nothing to tell APP to change the search field order so Mr James Brown becomes JAMESBROWN. I guess this isn’t a problem with the CACs version of the programme however when they are imported into our system we suddenly have a lot of entries which are searchable only by the callers first name. That’s difficult enough but if the caller later gives us a shortened version (such as Jim) then we really struggle to find it.
Is this causing anyone else issues?
Certainly an issue as it upsets search here too. Unfortunately we are having to live with it though as we have no control over the input, and can't see any way to get round it aside from using the address to search - but that data can be flakey!
