APP 8.10 Patch

Essex Trading Standards.

I was wondering if any LA have got the APP 8.10 patch on their LIVE database and it has been working fine.

We have it on our TRAIN database and it seems ok with the data inside and the new fields for the FSDM.

We did have trouble logging into APP and our IT department build a new server for it and seems ok and my IT asking me are we ready to put it on LIVE.

I am bit nervous in case it it doesn't go well.


The action code for Regulatory Area is everyone using this for food visits and also food complaints action diary?

We have 8.10 on live and it does work OK. Only thing I will say is when Civica deployed the new food standards inspection type, it also assigned to the TS module, not just the EH one. I spotted this and was merryily deleting - decided to check about I deleted about 100 (stupid mistake.......I know) and found it deletes from both. So it took me a day to put back to the EH module. Apparently in programme PRG you can delete from TS but nervous as we are in a Remote Desktop environment which will disconnect. I looked at test and it is only assigned to a small number of premises (rather than over 3,000 in live) so cannot judge how long it will take. I would suggest you tell Civica which module it should be assigned to. I will have to live with it until we migrate to Cx!

I also have all the UD and AD fields configured. There is a lot of duplication. I put about 10 call within a week on Service Desk to Roisin before I finally understood what is needed (I usually put 1 on about every 6 months). Then realised the reports were not needed this year.

New HHSRS

Morning all, Now announced changes to HHSRS which comes into force 23 June, do you know if Civica are going to release a new excel spreadsheet/configuration guidance? I cannot see anything on their userhub

I asked Civica about this on 30th April. The reply at the time was: The product team are aware of the upcoming HHSRS changes, but I'm waiting to hear what the plan will be with regards to rolling out APP changes to support it. As soon as I hear, I will let you know. Nothing further since.

LAEMS Return - URGENT!

Good morning all.

Apologies in some respects for this being my first post - I've literally only just joined this network. I'm equally sorry/not sorry! to seek to burden you with something urgent.

I'm the (relatively) new head of service for Environmental Health at Bradford Council, and my Lead Food Officer has very recently left us for pastures new, at very short notice.

My former colleague was seemingly the only one who knew how to run the required report/collate the data. Consequently, we're in desperate need to complete the return before the 31st May deadline.

I can see that APP has a "Formal Returns" capability, one of which is "FSA Returns" which seems to generate something when I start looking, but it doesn't complete. I don't know where it's pulling the data from, or what the issue is. The previous head of service had intimate knowledge of APP, but of…

Hi Dave, there is a useful article dated March 2026 on Civica's UserHub site on the topic of compiling the FSA return. For info, I've downloaded a copy and attached it below. I hope this helps. You'll find UserHub to be a valuable source of guidance and support for APP (and Cx if you decide to go that way) so if you haven't registered give Civica Support Desk a call in the usual way and get yourself a login.


If the above doesn't solve your problem, then the Support Desk is your first port of call.
