Sharepoint and APP
Hi all. We are starting a project to migrate from mapped network drives to Sharepoint, and of course this means that countless indexed docs from many years of APP use will be moved with them.... this will break the links, so I will need to find a way to relink. I understand that it is possible to map Sharepoint locations to drive letters, so assume I will be able to work around it by doing this. Has anybody got experience of migrating indexed docs, or working with Sharepoint in APP, please? I would be interested in your experience and thoughts. Its quite new to us here so we have little experience!

Thanks Ross - I have used your method in the past when we moved servers, and can imagine the headache your current setup can cause! Luckily our mapped drives are currently the same for each user, so we don't have to contend with differences there, but I have seen issues at another authority I deal with and considered using absolute addresses.
I think our project is going to be a little way off (the APP bit is likely to keep it out of "quick win" territory!), so I also live in hope that we may be elsewhere system wise by then!
