LAEMS Return - URGENT!

Good morning all.

Apologies in some respects for this being my first post - I've literally only just joined this network. I'm equally sorry/not sorry! to seek to burden you with something urgent.

I'm the (relatively) new head of service for Environmental Health at Bradford Council, and my Lead Food Officer has very recently left us for pastures new, at very short notice.

My former colleague was seemingly the only one who knew how to run the required report/collate the data. Consequently, we're in desperate need to complete the return before the 31st May deadline.

I can see that APP has a "Formal Returns" capability, one of which is "FSA Returns" which seems to generate something when I start looking, but it doesn't complete. I don't know where it's pulling the data from, or what the issue is. The previous head of service had intimate knowledge of APP, but of course, is no longer around either. Colleagues with more knowledge of APP than me have had a look, without success. I know a little but not enough of the operational side, and even less of the configuration side of things, having been using iDox until my arrival at Bradford Council.

Fundamentally, I suppose I'm asking if anyone has any familiarity with generating a LAEMS return from APP (if it can still do it) and has capacity to help us out! I'd be absolutely indebted to you if you can provide any kind of advice or guidance, as a matter of urgency (for me!).

Being new to this platform, I'll be working out how to access replies to this post, but I'd be delighted to accept any direct emails or 'phone calls.

Hi Dave, there is a useful article dated March 2026 on Civica's UserHub site on the topic of compiling the FSA return. For info, I've downloaded a copy and attached it below. I hope this helps. You'll find UserHub to be a valuable source of guidance and support for APP (and Cx if you decide to go that way) so if you haven't registered give Civica Support Desk a call in the usual way and get yourself a login.
